There we first met
It housed our first conversation
Our first smile together
Our first laughter together
Where we exchanged beautiful pleasantries
Where I told you that you swept me off my chocolate feet
Inside the cassava plot

It was where I always wanted to be
Where I was the happiest man
Where we played together
Where I sang for you
With that voice you long for
We sang together
Inside the cassava plot

Though we were lovers
We talked like friends
Though we were lovers
We played like kids
It hosted our deepest emotions together
Where we talked and talked about you
Inside the cassava plot

And one day you stopped coming
You said goodbye without a word
And I waited and hoped
Wanted to see you march again in the cassava plot
Still stunned at why you left me
Inside the cassava plot
Without a goodbye kiss
